The West County Micromobility Hub will be located at 1434 Macdonald Ave. The future home base for bike repair, e-bike access, and community-led mobility. It doesn’t exist yet. We’re inviting our community to help bring it into existence.
What the Hub Will Offer
- Retail bike & e-bike sales, including refurbished donated bikes at low or free through our Everybody Rides Program
- Free public e-bike charging
- Free public bike parking
- Bike repair services, from quick tune-ups to full rebuilds
- Sliding scale safety and maintenance workshops open to the whole community at a fee that is affordable
- A gathering space for our bicycle community
Bringing Back What Richmond Asked For
Rich City Rides has been putting bikes in Richmond hands for over a decade. Since our first bike shop opened in 2014, we’ve provided more than 3,600 free new and refurbished bikes to our neighbors.
When our building was sold and the shop closed, Richmond didn’t let it go quietly. Residents and community members called for its return. The West County Micromobility Hub is how we bring that legacy back with free bike access at the scale our community has told us, again and again, that it wants. Help reboot the bike shop.
More Than a Bike Shop
This hub is designed to grow into a full home for green transportation and workforce development in Richmond with real jobs with room to grow, from repair technicians to workshop facilitators, all trained and paid fair wages right here. Every dollar earned will go back into keeping our workshops, charging, and community rides free.
