Why this work
matters

The Richmond Park Equity Project

The people closest to our parks should shape what happens next.

The Richmond Park Equity Project (RichPEP) is a collaborative effort to identify the sources of park inequity, explore strategies for change, and create recommendations that fit Richmond and surrounding unincorporated neighborhoods.

A diverse advisory group brings neighborhood representation into the heart of the process. Together, we are turning years of community knowledge into long-term, systemic solutions that get projects built and programs funded.

From plans to progress

A roadmap built
for action.

RichPEP addresses the obstacles that have kept earlier plans from becoming visible, lasting improvements.

01

Funding

Make funding strategies a core part of planning so the improvements communities name can actually be built.

02

Staffing

Address limited staff capacity and create the support needed to care for public spaces over the long term.

03

Prioritization

Build a clear, equity-based framework that puts neighborhood needs at the center of every decision.
